As ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred moves on, we count ourselves lucky in Noosa, but our thoughts are with our close communities in Brisbane, Fraser Coast and the Gold Coast who are facing significant challenges, including flooding and power outages. We acknowledge the resilience of our industry and the broader community in preparing for this event, and thank you for your efforts.
We also thank the emergency services personnel and Noosa Council for their vigilance and dedication throughout recent days.
Now, as we shift to recovery, we ask: What does our tourism industry need and how can we help?
FREE OPPORTUNITY – SEND US A DEAL
We are planning now to show Australia that Noosa is open and ready to welcome visitors back.
We invite you to provide a compelling accommodation or experience deal, valid to 31 March 2025, to feature on the Visit Noosa website.
This is a FREE opportunity for you to encourage visitors to return, while offering value-driven experiences.
We will support the mini campaign with a special newsletter to our extensive national consumer database and through our Visit Noosa social media platforms.
You can also load the deal on to your ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse) listing, if you have one, in readiness for inclusion in any recovery campaigns coordinated through Tourism and Events Queensland.
If your business has been affected by closures, we would like to hear from you. We are collating information on economic losses for our region to share with the State Government, as they consider any financial assistance and/or longer-term capacity-building initiatives for our industry. Please reach out to us at members@tourismnoosa.com.au with details of any impacts your business has experienced.
We will also let members know of any government financial help that becomes available.
Good news, Noosa Main Beach is open and the Noosa Festival of Surfing is going ahead as planned, 14-23 March, and so is our annual networking night at the event’s Beach Bar!
WHEN: Tuesday 18 March, 5-7pm
TICKETS: Members - $17 | Non-Members $27
INCLUDES: First welcome drink and beach canapes by Kaysers Smoke Train.
While we look forward to welcoming visitors, it’s also a crucial time to support our local community and businesses. Have you considered reaching out to your local followers and offering a locals deal to encourage them to come and support businesses that lost trade during last week’s closures?
We encourage everyone to love local – grab a coffee, enjoy a meal out, book that tour you’ve always wanted to do, or even take a staycation. Every bit of local support helps our businesses and industry bounce back stronger.
We will also soon launch sales for a new Noosa Country Drive map, with marketing opportunities for members operating in the hinterland.
This is a popular publication for visitors and locals, so please look out soon for the prospectus with all the details.
