A: Visitor accommodation, visitor mobility throughout the region, and flight searches to the Sunshine Coast from key markets.
Accommodation data shows future bookings for the entire region and individual villages, benchmarked to previous years, as well as against competitor destinations. Historical data shows average daily rates and occupancy for each month over the past few years, length of stay and the booking lead time which shows how far ahead people are booking.
The mobility data provides a deeper dive into source markets, showing where our visitors come from, their relative affluence, and more.
A: Members can use it to inform their business planning and marketing. Benchmark and compare how your business is tracking against results for the region. See where people are coming from (down to which suburb) so you can better target your marketing to those suburbs, especially on social media. See which days they visit so you know when to expect more or fewer visitors in the area.
A: Accommodation data is collected from all major online bookings websites, including Booking.com, Air BnB, Trip Advisor and Stayz. While the data doesn’t include direct bookings, it makes use of available data sets that represent the range of holiday accommodation properties across the Noosa region and is significant enough to be able to draw statistically sound conclusions.
The mobility data comes from 9 million mobile phone users and is 100% opt-in and anonymous.
The flight data is sourced from global flight search engine, SkyScanner.
Spend data is from depersonalised card usage data provided by Visa Destination Insights and incorporates data from other independent research sources.
