Red and yellow flags are used to indicate the safest patrolled swimming area. Read more about beach safety from Surf Life Saving Queensland.
Take care when you head out into the sun - cover up and protect yourself against harmful UV rays. If you find yourself without sunscreen on the beach ask the surf lifesavers for some of their ready supply.
